John Alan Edward Mulgan (1911–1945) died in Cairo on 26 April 1945. Report on Experience is his posthumously published memoir of the years between the wars and his extraordinary service in WWII Greece with the Special Operations Executive. One of the most clear-sighted memoirs to emerge from WWII, and a cornerstone of New Zealand literature. His father, the writer Alan Mulgan, described the book as a work of striking honesty. This 1967 Blackwood & Janet Paul edition is increasingly sought after by NZ literary collectors.
