Secondhand paperback very good condition. Published by Penguin. Homage to Catalonia is George Orwell's memoir recounting his experiences fighting in the Spanish Civil War with the POUM militia against Franco's fascists. He describes the revolutionary atmosphere in Barcelona, the hardships and boredom of frontline life in Aragon, and his involvement in the street fighting of the May Days. Wounded in the throat and later fleeing as the POUM was suppressed by Stalinist forces, Orwell offers a firsthand critique of the political betrayals within the Republican side.
