A scarce, numbered presentation copy of an important history of firefighting in Dunedin.
Written by J. S. Little and published in 1948 for the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board, this detailed centennial history traces the development of Dunedin’s fire brigades from 1848 to 1948. It records major fires, the growth of organised firefighting, changes in equipment and stations, and the people who served the city across its first century.
This is the Special Presentation Edition, limited to only 250 copies. This copy is numbered 154 and bears the presentation statement and signature of the Chairman of the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board.
Bibliographic details:

The spine lettering remains readable. The binding is intact, and the pages show age-toning with occasional light marks. No dust jacket is present. The numbered presentation page is present and signed by the Chairman of the Dunedin Metropolitan Fire Board.
