Denis Glover (1912–1980) is one of New Zealand's most beloved poets — founder of the Caxton Press, WWII naval hero (Distinguished Service Cross), and author of New Zealand's most famous poem, The Magpies. Clutha is a sequence of river poems celebrating the Clutha River in Otago, and is among Glover's late-period works. First editions of Glover's poetry are increasingly sought after by NZ literary collectors. This copy was published the same year as the RAK Mason Collected Poems connection — Glover having co-edited that landmark 1962 edition.
