Scooter Computer & Mr. Chips by Leslie McGuire

The Computer in the Candy Store

Golden Look-Look Book

A charming snapshot of early computer-age optimism, Scooter Computer & Mr Chips: The Computer in the Candy Store introduces young readers to computers through bright illustrations and gentle storytelling. Very much a product of its time, this book reflects how computers were once seen as curious, friendly helpers — novel, approachable, and slightly magical.

A great example of vintage children’s publishing from the era when computers were just beginning to enter everyday life
