Church Praise: Hymns, Metrical Psalms, Chants, Sanctuses, Anthems, published by James Nisbet & Co., London, 1907.
An attractive early 20th century church hymnal and worship collection featuring hymns, psalms, chants, musical notation, and liturgical music for congregational and devotional use. Bound in black leather with gilt spine lettering and striking red page edges.
This 1907 edition contains a substantial collection of sacred music and hymnody covering major themes of the Christian year and spiritual life, including worship, missions, baptism, communion, prayer, faith, peace, resurrection, and seasons of the church calendar.
The volume includes printed musical scores throughout and retains a lovely period ecclesiastical aesthetic. A charming Edwardian-era devotional and musical work.
Condition: Good vintage condition overall for age. Noticeable rubbing and wear to the spine ends and corners, with some scuffing to the leather. Interior remains clean and well-preserved with light foxing and age toning. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper dated 1910.
