The Diary of Alice by Alice Maud Batt

The Diary of Alice preserves the wartime diary of Alice Maud Batt (1889–1969), a Voluntary Aid Detachment nurse whose First World War service was marked by exceptional bravery. Batt was awarded the Albert Medal for heroic action in 1918 and also received the British Red Cross Society Special Service Cross. The diary was privately published by a member of her family; this copy carries a 1997 copyright notice in the name of Arthur Leslie Batt.
