The White Goddess by Robert Graves

Robert Graves’s influential exploration of poetic inspiration, myth and the symbolic figure of the goddess. Drawing together literary interpretation and comparative mythology, this unconventional study proposes connections among ancient stories, ritual and the language of poetry. A speculative literary work rather than a conventional history, it remains a distinctive part of Graves’s writing.
