This is the seventh issue of the Spiral journal, a publication from New Zealand focusing on women's art and literature, with a particular emphasis on lesbian voices and experiences.
Spiral was founded in 1975 by Heather McPherson and other women artists and writers.
Seven issues of the journal were produced between 1976 and 1993 by various collectives across New Zealand.
In addition to the journal, Spiral also published monographs, including Keri Hulme's Booker Prize-winning novel, the bone people.
This specific edition, Spiral 7, was published in 1992.
